Axios Systems and Partner Seven Seas Technologies Support Launch of itSMF Kenya Chapter

November 05, 2008

Move highlights Axios Systems and partner Seven Seas Technologies’ efforts to help Kenyan companies become more efficient through best practice ITSM technology and practices. Further demonstrates acceleration of Axios Systems’ global expansion plans

Axios Systems, one of the world's leading providers of ITIL®-based business service desk management software solutions and their partner Seven Seas Technologies, a Technology Infrastructure Solutions company, are striving to help Kenyan companies become more efficient through the implementation of ITIL®-based best practice ITSM technology and practices. The two partners proudly sponsored the much anticipated launch of the itSMF Kenya Chapter on 4th November 2008.

In September 2008, IDC projected increased economic growth in its first Kenya IT market report. The report said overall market growth is expected to remain high in 2008, peaking in mid 2009 after Kenya is connected to submarine fibre, which will ensure and extend connectivity. The fibre-optic links will drive down communication costs for businesses which is expected to stimulate the SMB (small and medium business) segment, where technology uptake has been hindered by high costs.

IDC projects that help desks, managed services, data centers, call centers, and application and hosting services will be key areas to watch in 2009.

Axios Systems and Seven Seas Technologies are well positioned to play a role in the expected growth, particularly as the assyst solution, developed by Axios Systems and implemented in Kenya by Seven Seas Technologies is designed to help companies strive for Continual Service Improvement (CSIP), manage costs and manage change as they develop their IT and business infrastructure.

As a global market leader, Axios Systems already has a strong relationship with itSMF in the UK and North America, working to help companies align best practice principles to IT Service Management. Axios are delighted to be extending this affiliation with itSMF into Kenya in conjunction with Seven Seas Technologies.

At the launch, Axios Systems and Seven Seas Technologies’ experts were available to discuss a variety of key industry issues that today’s CEOs, CTOs and CIOs are experiencing. Celebrating their 20th Anniversary this year, Axios have a wealth of experience in best practice consulting and training from initial ITIL® awareness and guidance through to ISO / IEC 20000 certification. Seven Seas Technologies complements this knowledge with their focus on implementing well designed and fully secure enterprise technology infrastructures, using Axios flagship software solution, assyst.

The launch took place in the Sarova Stanley Hotel with The Chairman of the Executive Board of itSMF International, Ms Sharon Taylor presenting the accreditation charter. The Hon. Samuel Poghisio, Minister of Information and Communications, delivered the keynote speech.
