Axios Appoints Former Service Desk Institute Director to Drive Global Growth

Axios Systems, the world’s leading single focused IT Service Management (ITSM) company, today announces the appointment of Barclay Rae as global head of professional services.

In this role, Rae will advise companies around the world on how to get the most out of ITSM. His remit will include leading the company’s dedicated team of consultants and trainers that provides Best Practice and consulting services to its customers. By leveraging his 25 years of industry experience, he will work with his team to offer organizations across the globe the very best advice and practical help on how to maximize their ITSM investments and implement optimum solutions.

Rae is the latest in a series of senior appointments made by Axios to strengthen its global management team and accelerate international growth. Axios has recently hired Graeme McKenzie as head of global sales and Bob Lawson was appointed head of global marketing last year.

He joins from the Service Desk Institute (formerly the Help Desk Institute), where he was head of consulting and instrumental in driving Best Practice throughout the service industry, providing consultation, training and accreditation to companies of all sizes. With over two decades’ experience in the IT service management and call centre industries, he is one of the leading voices in ITSM. He also founded and drove the Service Futures Group (SFG), a joint initiative between the Service Desk Institute and itSMF, which provides regular industry analysis and information to the ITSM community. Rae also gained significant experience running independent ITSM consultancy e2e Customer Services for over 10 years.
