The Law Society has ruled in favour of Axios Systems as the supplier of its new IT Service Management (ITSM) solution.
The regulatory and representative body for 116,000 solicitors in England and Wales (www.lawsociety.org.uk) has successfully completed a first phase implementation of Axios' assyst product on its IT Service Desk which it has moved in-house from an outsourcer.
"We wanted to achieve a broader and more flexible service which is more responsive to the needs of the business, and provides better value for money for the Law Society," commented Law Society Director of ICT Judith Hetherington Smith.
The main business driver was to transform from an outsourced Help Desk into an in-house full Service Desk where a high percentage of calls could be answered and resolved over the 'phone. The Society is also keen to move beyond Incident, Problem and Change Management to include IT inventory and asset management, and become more proactive in resolving IT problems.
The award-winning assyst solution is being integrated with the Society's Landesk automated asset discovery tool.
The Society, which employs nearly 1,400 staff, also wanted a solution to facilitate the introduction of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) Best Practice. Developed from inception around ITIL®, assyst offers a unique lifecycle approach to IT Service Management through the integration of Help Desk and Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Asset and Configuration Management, and Service Level Management processes in a single solution.
Ailsa Symeonides, Sales and Marketing Director of Axios Systems, added: "We are looking forward to helping the Law Society achieve its goal of being an effective regulator and strong professional support body for solicitors in England and Wales."
